Hey! I'm pretty new to quilting but I just can't get enough of it. I think I have bought enough fabric for at least, the very least, 10 quilts, dust ruffles, curtains and shower curtains but I am having a ball. Sewing is all I want to do. Anyway, sorry for being so winded just excited I guess. So, hey again from Alabam.

yourstrulyquilts 03-09-2010 08:26 AM

Welcome from Oregon!! It's OK to get excited.....indicates you're still alive!

xstatic 4 quilting 03-09-2010 08:46 AM

I geuss so. It was just that my introduction was so much longer than every one elses. I have a question about a quilt that I'm starting on. Can you try to help me?

yourstrulyquilts 03-09-2010 08:51 AM

what's the question?

xstatic 4 quilting 03-09-2010 08:51 AM

Do I need to go to another area to ask questions?

yourstrulyquilts 03-09-2010 08:52 AM

No, But I will redirect you to another thread as soon as I can. What's the question?

Sorry I was busy with something else. My question is: I am trying to make a twin size quilt in a stitch and flip pattern. I have only made a lap quilt size. I don't have a pattern for a twin. Do I just repeat the pattern once more or do I need to add more?

xstatic 4 quilting 03-09-2010 09:53 AM

I need to make this quilt quick It's for my boyfriends daughter for her birthday and her b-day is the 16th. BRB

xstatic 4 quilting 03-09-2010 10:10 AM

Did everyone leave me? I'm sorry I left.

Rachel 03-09-2010 10:13 AM

give them a little time, they'll be back. tee hee Can you post pictures of the one that you made so we have an idea of what time of flip and sew pattern your trying to make?

xstatic 4 quilting 03-09-2010 10:49 AM

I need to get my boyfriend to take a picture and put it on the computer. I'm a computer dummy but I will get him to. I've had a hard time trying to figure out how to get to where I am now.

Hello and welcome. I'm new on here to. I'm in Texas.

xstatic 4 quilting 03-09-2010 11:01 AM

Plus how do I read what everyone posts on here? It seems to take a while for a response. It seems like when I go and do something else, on the computer for a while, and come back then I have a response. Am I doing something wrong or what?

xstatic 4 quilting 03-09-2010 11:03 AM

Hey. What part of Texas? I'm just above Montgomery.

Depending on the size of the lap, you may need to add more than one just row. A twin should measure about 60X95. If you can add borders, that will increase the size and may be faster than adding rows.

Do you know how to do a stitch and flip quilt? It is the easiest one to make or at least it seems that way to me. I have only made one but I had so much fun. I'm not a wonderful sewer but I think that I did okay. I figured out how to make my own binding on my own. I'm very proud of the quilt.

xstatic 4 quilting 03-09-2010 11:12 AM

That sounds like a good idea. I hadn't thought of that.

yourstrulyquilts 03-09-2010 11:12 AM

I've never mace one, but I can imagine ....................

Hello and welcome from california.

Welcome from Rockford IL. Never made a stitch and flip, but I agree with yourstrulyquilts, adding rows and boarders to get the size you want usually works quite well. And don't worry it just takes practice to find your way around here and everyone is very nice and helpful.

There is a chat thingy elsewhere on here (As you can see I'm still a dummy here). This is not a live chat. We get to it when we get to it.
