Hi, all. I have been reading all the posts for a good long while. Never wrote before. My issue is my wonderful new sewing machine. I splurged and bought this, hoping it would fill all my quilting and sewing needs. It has over 400 stitches, and for the most part if just great. The problem is how many needles I keep breaking and bending. Any time I sew over a seam or thick place, I am done until I change the needle. It is a very sensitve machine, won't sew if there the needle isn't perfect. I am thinking the problem is probably with me, not understanding the challenge of electronic sewing. Anyone else have a similar experience? Old quilter from WV

Hi. And thanks for your ideas. I have tried larger, and smaller needles, less tension, etc. It has no problems with straight stitches but when I go to all the fancy stuff, which is what I love, then I ruin needles.

This may be a bit crazy...but....did you have an old machine that you had to "help" by guiding the fabric thru with your hands in front of the stitching and in back??? In other words, gently pulling?
I have a bit of experience with that. When we get a new modern electronic machine, we don't break our old habits and the new machine doesn't like it.
If this isn't the case....great...
If this helps...GREAT!
