Thank you! I just love birds and try to be inspired as I look over scraps and stash. Hard to believe it’s June already! Will need to decide soon if I want to make more than the 12 blocks.

My oh my. It is August! And the August block is inspired by the unique and pretty Flamingo. I found a couple of pink strips in an Island Batik jelly roll that seemed perfect for the block. Here is the link for the directions for this month:

I did two blocks again. Thanks for looking.

Is anyone else having issues downloading the monthly patterns? I signed up and haven’t figured out how to print out the monthly pattern. It frustrating. I just plan to use each months pic and figure out how to do the blocks. One of my month’s goals to catch up on this project and post pics as I go along. FYI, tomorrow stars the VQW.

These are some pretty blocks. I love that when you get through, you will have enough blocks for 2 quilts.

Hello! The September block is inspired by the Cinnamon Teal. I’m not sure when I’ll get the chance to make this month’s block. Too much going on. Here is the link:

https://patternsbyjen.blogspot.com/2020/09/

Happylab, I haven’t had any problems downloading. The monthly blog includes a link. When I click on it, it takes me to a payhip page where I enter my email address. Then a download screen appears. I click on download and it takes me to the instructions which I then print. It also sends me an email that I can use to access the instructions. Although it is a payhip, the block pattern is free at least for the current month. I haven’t tried to access later so I’m not sure when or if we would have to pay once the current month passes.

Barb in Louisiana, I’m glad I decided to try two different backgrounds. The blender was the original background I chose for the quilt. I decided at last minute to use some grunge grey I had on hand to make “practice” blocks first......then discovered I liked the grey background better. I plan to donate one quilt and keep the other.

Happylab, out of curiosity I went back to July link. It, as usual, took me to the payhip page; but now it costs $1 to download the pattern. Free must only be for current month.

I have finally finished the September block. The Cinnamon Teal was the inspiration for September. I had a bit of Island Batik’s Cinnamon Dot fabric and used it for this months color.

October block was was released October 1. The Ruby-crowned Kinglet is this month’s bird. I’m looking through my stash to see if I have any olive green fabric to use. Here is link to October block.

October’s block is interesting, and I can see potential for different modifications .... like fussy cutting the center square or using two different fabrics for the 4 stars. I ended up using fabric I bought at JoAnn’s to make masks. The colors seemed suitable for the ruby-crowned kinglet. And I liked how it would play with other colors in the quilt.

I had some problems matching the points when assembling the four stars into one block. Here are my two blocks. Thanks for looking.

November block was released November 1. This month is inspired by the buff-breasted sandpiper. Here is a link to the November page. https://patternsbyjen.blogspot.com/2...challenge.html

Here are my two blocks this month. I used Tonga batiks for the buff colors.
