Like fabric, I love buttons. The antique and collectible ones I threaded on poster board, cut to slide in a plastic page protector. I have the huge metal buttons that were on my great grandmother's wedding dress back in the 1880's. The common buttons are in bluish glass canning jars.

Anyone else love vintage and antique buttons??

I love buttons! My mom and I were just talking about this...they seem like a connection with the past and they're small to store. I don't have any antique ones but I'd love to see pictures of yours.

My dad just gave me a box of buttons he found in the attic that belonged to his mother and grandmother. Dad is 82 so I know they are old. Thanks for the links. I will have fun looking at them.

I also love buttons. Decorating my sewing room is 3 - 2 quart jars; one for old, one for recent < 30 yrs and one of just weird, old, odd shaped buttons!

I really like your maple leaf table topper. Is that pattern available somewhere on-line?

I love buttons!
I have some that I do more crafty things with.
And I have some older/vintage buttons that I use in more special ways.

I love to "play" with my buttons, feeling their texture, coldness, listen to their noise as they hit upon each other, looking at the different designs...each button is so unique...there are so many different ones, they are something that is usable, but beautiful at the same time.

I don't buy them as much as I used to, but still add some to my collection on occasion.

Some of my favorites are pearl buttons, bakelite buttons, vegetable ivory buttons, bone buttons, metal picture buttons and so many more.

There used to be a thrift shop near where I worked one year. They had a rack of clothing items (that had been around a while, I guess) for 75 to 99 cents. It was fun to browse through them and find interesting buttons, and I filled metal tins with my "treasures" -- a lifetime supply!
