I love old buttons too...don't have too many old ones, but have some lovely ones in 2 2qt jars and 1 smaller jar sitting in my sewing room. Sometimes I just empty them all out and enjoy looking through them!! Thanks for the links..I'll enjoy them, I'm sure!! Thanks for sharing....will look forward to seeing pictures you post sometime.

Thanks Piney for the hint and the link to "bakelite". Will try that with my buttons.

I can't say that I have priced them recently. Guess I'm glad for both my fabric stash and my button "collection", that's my story....haha

I love buttons too. Years ago I went to an auction where they were selling a women's button collection. I had no idea that such buttons even existed. They were little works of art. I have been hooked ever since. I also have some great books about buttons and some of them are price guides as well... out of date now, but still interesting! I still can't walk by a jar of buttons without buying them if the price is right! Years ago I used to make pins out of buttons and I traded some of the really big collectible buttons that I had for smaller ones that I could use... thinking back... I shouldn't have done that!! Oh well...

I love/adore buttons. As a child I remember threading them on strings with my sister and having so much fun.

At least the design names are the same and that is a big help.
