These are a lot of fun to make and a great way to use up scraps and they are also spectacular made from the fancy glittzy wired ribbon you can find at the dollar store. If you wait till after Christmas, you can often pick it up for less than a dollar a roll! The dollar store is also a great place to pick up the massive amount of pins you'll need to make these....you can get about a 1000 for a dollar! Here's a hint that I found making these easier.....instead of trying to pick up those pins out of the container, I pick up a glob of them on a round magnet. They come up in a jumble and are a lot easier to get ahold of while you're working.

Those are so elegant. Going to have to try one or two or three.

Bought one many, many years ago - was always curious as to how they were made. Saw your post this morning - went out and bought styrofoam balls and pins and have one half made. Thanks

I just put the "ingredients" on my Joann's list. I am going to make some for my Oct & Nov Craft Fairs. Any idea how much they should sell for?? I never know and always hate to go too high or low. I need suggestions!

Oh I really love those.....A whole tree done in those would be beautiful. I would like to try some. You did a wonderful job on them.

Thanks for the link.
