I just went to Fatcats page. ya'll have to go read her stuff about Family Dirt. The one about the bathroom will crack you up. I'm still laughing.

I have never done this sort of thing. Would you paperpiece the arms of the snow man & the small pieces?

i would embroider those arms with something like a thick stem stitch or chain stitch and i would satin stitch the dots on the face. that's just me. i suppose you could applique, but it would be extremely hard to do on the arms.

Funny - I bookmarked this only yesterday. Probably need to get started soon though. Christmas is coming!

OMG that is so cute! Boy you sure are thinking ahead, can't wait to see it when you are done.

I might try something similar but a bit easier, LOL...thanks for the link I'm going to 'bookmark' it.

I love this quilt!! I have already bought the background and binding for the quilt, but do have a helpful question for myself. I want to do applique with an understitch so that it can't be seen, but have a really hard time with freezer paper. I do applique with heatbond light but can't do that with the understitch. Can anyone give me some tips on other ways maybe. Thanks so much.

I've taken the plunge. I bought 5 yards of "sky" fabric for the background. I'm thinking the white snowmen will need two layers of white so the blue doesn't show through. Anybody ever do double applique to avoid the background showing through the white? Any other methods to avoid this probem?

The fat cats wallhanging I made [see Avatar picture] was made in felt. That made them a bit thicker and, of course, furry. Actually, I think I might do that here too.
