Lots of great information in your tutorial and I can use all of it!!!
I have often wondered how you get the paper out of your stitches after using it for a pattern, but I guess it comes out fairly easily.i will definitely have to try that with the quit I am doing now.

Your machine looked to have a larger throat than mine. I have a basic sized machine (and a large hand :oops: ) so I haven't tried your method of holding the quilt, but I'm willing to give it a shot if it makes FMQ easier! Thanks for the idea!

I have no problem when I sew with batting on bottom (but I lower the feed dogs). If you can't lower them, just cover them with a piece of plastic.

I forgot to mention on the tutorial that I stitch through paper with dense stitches. In this way it is easy to remove the paper.

Geta...where do you set you stitch length when doing your FM over the paper? I use vellum type paper (very thin) and I've found that I can use a 2.5 or even a 3 and it will still tear off very easily. I'm just curious about what setting you use as I think your paper is thicker than mine.

I can't tell you the exact lenght of the stitch (being stitched with FM) but I think is about 2.5.
For trapunto I use smaller stitches (because those stitches will disappear anyway after washing).
