I sent Bonnie the site owner an email asking how much time between steps and about the strip sizes. I also invited her to drop by and even join. Maybe she will. Her site is awesome. If some of you have never checked it out you should even if you are not doing the mystery project. Have Fun! :D

Bonnie replied to the email, and said the steps would be one to two weeks apart, so that is a good amount of time. Also make sure you are using 2 inch strips, if you use another size it will throw everything off. Dang, Now I have to cut strips. Pooey

arrrghhh more patterns I MUST TRY!!!

I have been tempted to do a Mystery quilt for a while now. I am evening considering teaching one in the fall to my students as a fun day retreat. I want to do a design in my EQ and make it.

As for the mystery quilt website. .. WOW!! thanks sooo much for sharing!! I was looking through some of her work and I am in awe how she uses scraps!!! Did you see her Cabin Fever quilt?? Over 5000 pieces went into it!! She started the project in 2001 and only completed it recently!!! I thought I WAS NUTS!!! I'm not alone!

Cheers!

Aggi, I know she is truly amazing, and surpasses me by far in the crazy area. She must quilt full time. She puts out a lot and also keeps up a web site. Pretty motivational, I think :!: So are you going to do the mystery too. The more the merrier, we can laugh or cry with each other. I still have to cut strips. Phooey. But today shopping. Fabric shopping that is. I never go shopping now with out at least buying some fabric. Thank goodness for Wally World (aka Walmart). Sure hope they keep their fabric or I will be in a world of trouble. No reasonal priced fabric near by. Enough to make a person need funny pills :!: Well off I am. Every one have a happy Q Day.

I am seriously considering it DonnaRae. At the moment I am making crumbs, also about to start Trevor's Van Halen Lap quilt, plus a crib quilt and a wedding gift quilt to make.. HA whats one more quilt!! hee hee and then on top of that I have my beach tote bags to put together to get ready to sell!!!! Speaking of having to sew full time!!! LOL

I will take a look at my stash soon I guess.. hmmmm but then I DO have to pass by a quilt shop on my walk home from work.. and I did get paid today... and I do get 3 pay cheques this month.. DOH!!!! looks like I have to do a little bit of fabric shopping along the way home.. I also have to take run to the grocery store as I want to make up a big pot of spaghetti sauce and freeze it for future meals. I love to take a night sometimes and just make up lotsa casseroles, and stuff. Makes a better meal than running to the nearest drive thru!! LOL Okay.. I"ll DO IT!!! I'll take a little run to the quilt shop on the way home.. ooh I hope they got some sales going on!!! I'll take a look at the requirements before leaving the office. I already printed them off on the colour printer.. :)

What colours are you making yours?

PM me if you wish !

Cheers

Ok.. so since my last post here (all of 25 minutes LOL) I have decided on my colour scheme.. I am going to make this quilt in shades of yellow, green and blue tone on tones with various white tone on tones.... I will call it "Summer Breeze" The blue for the sky, yellow for the sun, and the green for the beautiful grass. Right now I need to do something to make me feel summer WILL get here.. we are having a freezing rain warning here... I was out over lunch and it was slippery under foot walking. The wind is picking up too... Today looks the furthest thing from summer EVER getting here.. I think using these colours will give me a little perk that I need to get me through the long dragged out horrible winter here :(

Just got home from shopping. I did great. The Berninia store put their wall of sale fabric all 75 percent off. My timing was great. Ohhh I love the fabric I got. Even some batik! My color choices for the mystery is the main blue like hers, and I was thinking tans, muted yellows and such but reading Aggi's colors I think I am going to kind of go in that direction. I know I have to get going and start stripping. I have another project I have to have done by the 10th. So I am pushing it. Oh well I will manage. I emailed and asked Bonnie if I could use 2.5 inch strips (I have a lot of them from I strip swap I was in) and just change all the measurments by .5 inches and she said not a good idea, it would be better for me to make new strips 2 inches. So Aggi let us know how your fabric shopping went. Ah, hopefully it went as good as mine! :D

I'm in DonnaRae. I've loved Bonnie's site forever. Aren't her quilts just spectacular? She must quilt non-stop to get that many scraps! On to my four patches...
