I have a group of ladies planning to make 50 of these on July 20th --asked for donated pillowcases and only expected 25. Someone suggested we make a sewing day.
Having had sons I also am doing shorts or britches as the
web site calls them.
Our Presbyterian minister -a lady teaches people in Africa to be Teachers of a second language. Plans are to send them with her when she goes mid Sept. so they will get directly to the girls that need them but also helps me with shipping cost.

These are made like the pillowcase dresses but I actually did them from purchased fabric. (the pink one isn't a pillowcase dress) They are for my 3 youngest granddaughters.

Regarding the little dresses for Africa and britches for boys
These are so much fun to make, and they use a lot of "what was thinking" fabric for a good cause. I think Nancy's Notions will send them to Africa for you.

Thank you. I can't take credit for the idea though. They are so easy to make though. You can whip one out in no time.
