Default Quilt Index - so much to see

This website was mentioned on Sewing with Nancy. It has more than 50 thousand quilts in its database and, though not new, was 10 years in the making with new additions constantly being added. The creators wanted it to be an historical "one-stop" reference site to research quilts from several centuries and locations.

The speaker suggested starting with the "Browse" tab on the top of the screen and fine-tuning your search as you proceed from there.

It is part of the Quilt Alliance....They also have a great project that documents the history of quilts. Here is one that was my inspiration for so long. I found it in big book at the library and made a copy and subsequently made a denim quilt to hold my Girl Scout patches. It was great reading all about the quilt when all I had before was a picture and a paragraph! http://www.allianceforamericanquilts...?kid=14-31-1F4
