It is a very cool pattern, done either way! I'm doing an obw with all triangles/half hexies like this. I'm stuggling a bit keeping it all so well met.

You forgot the sound of the steam iron

I looked at this tutorial yesterday and have down loaded the pattern. I especially enjoy her emphasis on using color placement of color to make a pattern look so different. I hope to add this to my to-do list.

Sure...I had a kite ruler template for years that I never used and finally sold it...isn't that what it takes to make this quilt? If so, guess I'd better buy another one! Geeeez

If you are afraid of those corners, do one more step. When you have the pin standing up straight holding those middle points together, take another pin and pin beside it to hold that in position.
