Default Identifying an old Quilt

Can someone help me figure out- I can faintly see on the back a print that looks like Dunlop. I知 not sure if this name is correct. I can only see what looks like 3 of the letters, so I filled in rest to what I think it might say. It was given to me by family who got it from some dear friends. I was told that the back of quilt was dyed with walnut hulls. I知 not sure about any of that. I was hoping someone on this forum could help me find out if this name sounds familiar. Did people use to use this type of fabric for quilting. I知 trying to figure out a date when it may have been made. Thanks

You may be able to research feed sacks . Many companies printed their company name on fabric sacks that were turned into quilts, dresses and underwear.

You could try to contact Barbara Brackman through her blog : http://barbarabrackman.blogspot.com/
She is an expert quilt historian. Send her a few pics and description.

So this is definitely so cool and it is hard to figure out dates. Even some of us modern quilters like to play with dying fabrics with natural materials.

Do you have any idea of what the inner layer/the batting is?

For me this has the feel of a more modern project, not that older fabrics or even blocks couldn't have been used. I'm thinking there is a connection between the circular design and the Dunlop -- look at the company logo and your letters. Dunlop has been around long enough that feedsacks were around at the same time.
