What a wonderful effort. Who doesn't like or want peace? I had so much fun donating and seeing the progress of the last effort. Just goes to show you that quilters are the most giving people. I hope the Iraqi women felt empowered and got the same rush we get when we get new fabric. I'm sure the donations went to good homes and were very much appreciated. If you can give, consider it.

This link should give you the latest info: http://ibol.wordpress.com/ You may have to scroll down to past posts to get the gist of the donations.

there's no apparent affiliation with any officially recognized charity.

no link to follow-up information useful to verify anything.

sorry to be a wet blanket, but i'd think twice.

three times.

Here's Art's book he wrote about the first humanitarian effort: http://www.artlaflamme.com/blog/KMZ/IBOL_Book1.pdf

The last effort spread like wildfire through the online quilting community and resulted in 3,445 bundles (15 tons) of fabric and supplies and assistance from corporate sponsors as well.

I have already put together four bundles and I am planning on at least four more....I just wish we could get more people on this board involved....heaven knows that quilters can move the moon and stars when they work together.....

If you are still worried/concerned about this please see the following comment from the web site.

IBOL II: Day II

How do I know this is taking off again?
1. I am getting traffic from some place called ravelry.com;
2. Guys are leaving comments, asking for the address;
3. I'm actually recognizing both people's names and their email addresses, from last year; and
4. We had almost 1000 web hits on 25 AUG.
Not bad, for day two.
Remember last time, when I put out the challenge for a fabric store to come forward with bundles for sale, at or just above cost? Sew Mama Sew! stepped up and did just that -- with some totally amazing results (love you, Sew Mama Sew!)
This time, we need that for thread. We need it for fabric and yarn, too, but thread would be totally awesome. Anybody know someone that can either put me in touch with, or that they can drag into this? Surely there are small business owners out there, willing to Give A Little, right?

he's the only one providing information.

do as you please, but there is no way to verify that this is a legitimate charity.
