I was just reading this...its from Keepsake quilting. They send you a precut block of the month. Sounds like you just need to sew it. Has anyone done this with them?

Sounds like fun, but looks like it is very expensive.

It's a great quilt, but it's very cost prohibitive for me. The blocks alone are over $250.00 and then there is the shipping each month, and the extra fabric needed and it only a throw sized quilt. I would opt for doing my own cutting and save quite a few bucks.

It's $20.99 for each block + $3.99 shipping each month for 12 months + backing etc.

I might be reading it wrong, but I'm understanding that you get manageable chunks of fabric each month, as opposed to yardage, but not precut shapes that you jet sew. I might pay a bit for that, but most of these are too $$$ for me, and besides, who wants to do all that work to end up with something so similar to the next quilter's result? Kits have their place, but that's a lot of time and $$$ one of them is $44/ mo x 20 mo and $160 for the last mo. = $1040!!! Could buy an award-worthy original quilt for that.

that is why I do not do any block of the month way to expensive for me they make lots of $$$$$$$ on those things instead of just selling the kit or the pattern

BOM at the LQS used to be $5-10/ month. Dunno if still so. I'd pay $15/mo including postage for a BOM I like. I think that could be a nice little home business

I too think that kits are way over priced. I've
seen many kits that I would love to do but will not pay for them to cut my material. They are already making money selling me the pattern and fabric (which I don't mind paying for) but they could give you the option of just buying the pattern and fabric. I would do alot more of their patterns. I once sighned up for a BOM, not figuring the cost. Once I was in it, I nearly choked when I figured the total cost.NEVER did that again. A couple patterns that I would really like to do is the Baltimore Christmas and Halloween quilts. But you can't get that pattern except in a kit. Stinks!!!
