Amazing and touching story. The quilt brought a great deal of comfort in a time that it was really needed. This is why we quilt.

Wonderful story. He has such good memories despite the horrors he lived through.

Lovely story. I hope he never finds the ladies who made it but just keeps it in his family to pass the story along.

Our church ladies recently sent 101 quilts to a Lutheran World Relief. They were very colorful when draped over the pews for the service when they were blessed and prayers said for the people who would receive them. They would not win a prise in a quilt show, but I am sure they will bring warmth and comfort to those who receive them. They will go somwhere in the world where there are folks in need.

Very moving. We don't realize what a difference we could make in someone's life...

What a meaningful story, full of heartbreak but also courage, determination, and love. So inspiring!

thank you for sharing such a wonderful story with us.
No one never knows where a quilt will end up and how many lives it will touch.
It gave comfort when needed and I hope he hands that quilt down with the story
to his grandchildren to share with theirs too.
