Someone recently posted a question about how many male quilters are about. Here is an interesting link on talented male quilters: Good list.

I'm beginning to realize that a lot of us women quilters "drag" our husbands over to look at what we are doing and to get their input when something doesn't seem right to us. Yesterday I discovered that a friend (whose husband is "colorblind") helps her with colors (and probably "tones"). This amazed me because my husband was told recently that he is essentially colorblind, but he has helped me for years!!! Go figure. Some guys may not be able to tell the chart colors apart at the doc's office, but they certainly can be a great help. I've tried to get my husband to begin quilting (he's 78) but he's never sewed, except buttons and clipping threads for me, and won't consider it. I think he's a closet quilter.

Men.... go for it. Painting (in 19th C. America) was a "ladies" skill, as was cooking, and all sorts of thngs. Animal husbandry was a "mans" skill.... but look at all the female vets we have today. Why do we put ourselves in boxes!!!???

How timely! One our of quilties came to session last Tuesday - was working on binding a lovely Quilt. She said very quietly, "My son made this, but he doesn't want to broadcast that he quilts."

Of course, I touted the many male quilter items with which I'm familiar and there are quite a few, but this list really will help to bring this guy to bring his talent to the forefront.

Thanks, thanks!
