I have my fabric almost all prepped for this mystery. Just a few final HSTs to sew, trim, and press.

Am I the only one that is as eager as a kid on the first day of school? I've been quilting for 50 years so I should not be this excited. I have never done a mystery quilt that I liked until after it was completed. What is wrong with me!?

I'm eager too but didn't do any prep work so while hubby still sleeps I'm off to my stash to shop. For me just trying to make sure I don't miss a post will be a challenge!

I only found out about this a couple of days ago. I've cut everything out and finished sewing the HSTs last night, but still need to press and trim, so I'm definitely going to be working from behind. My plan is to finish by Friday. I'm using scraps, so didn't have quite enough of everything to make matching 2-1/2" squares, but after I see the clue that uses them, I'll decide what I need to do to fill in.

I'm using scraps too. I foolishly thought I only needed 120 squares. When my sister pointed out my obvious mistake I had to scramble to find enough pieces of white on white to make the HSTs. I was digging through quilt trash and upending buckets of fabric but I found what I needed!

I can't find part 2. Anyone know where it will be posted?

Rather an anticlimactic start.

Go to either http://planetpatchwork.com/Case136/Case136Part2.pdf or her Facebook page.

Thanks for the link. More HSTs. <sigh>. I'm going to finishe those then do all the pressing/ trimming, which will take me quite some time.

I didn't quite make it. I hate making HST this way as I am no good at it. If I had been willing to recognize what we were going to do with those 6 7/8 squares I would have planned differently. But I press on.
