I bought a shoe organized at Goodwill, still in the package, for $1.50. It was one of those things I did not need at the time, but knew I would need it later. It is now later and it works well for quilting supplies.

it would be good for the larger items, this one for the smaller items, would work too.
It can be used to hang inside a closet as well, which would work for me.

I think that I'm going to buy one today when we go Xmas shopping. Thanks for the idea.
Happy organizing, Kutnso

I bought one similar at Wal-Mart - it was for shoes. Great for storing my small stuff like rotary cutters, scissors, tape, etc. Now I know where to look for the stuff.

I have that exact door organiser. I bought it for quilt supplies, but have ended up keeping my camera gear in it. I think it is good.

I guess it would work but I would make my own so I could design it to fit my needs. $30 dollars seems like a lot of money for such a thing, you can make something cheaper. I have been thinking about making one to hold my stablizers. I am going to hang it on an "over the door towel holder" and make loops for a wooden dowel to slide through and hang on the towel holder. I am making the main part out of quilted fabric and then make slots out of clear plastic to slide stablizer in and then I can make lables to identify the different kinds. I made something like this to hold my mats and rulers, it has been a real space saver. I'm gonna make this when I have time, when ever that is.

I bought one of those clear vinyl shoe organizers to go on the wall in my quilting area. Because the pockets are see though it is easy to see what is in them, and the size fits a lot of my supplies. I already have a ruler holder on the wall, so don't need the big pockets. I also have one of these on the back of the my son's door for his small toys that get lost in the mess of his bedroom.

I use them for everything--one in my linen closet for bandaids, extra toothbrushes, etc. One in my office to sort mail (I was my aunt's guradian and her and my mother's executors when they died). One holds all my glue supplies. I get them fairly cheap at WalMart. I get the clear ones so I can see what is in there. If I use and all canvas one, then I have to search.
