These are cute and would be pretty to make in holiday colors. I am thinking fall right now.

I love this idea. My mom has lots of cotton curtain fabric left over from a business she once owned (Drapery and Upholstery fabric). The prints are not very "in" so we have talked of doing this method to make some rags rugs ourselves. Just have not gotten to it yet.

We could use the same fabric to make the coasters and rag rugs. This same blog has a tutoral on making the rugs.
