That is so neat! Love it, and it seems like this new technique should be quite easy. Your quilt sure is nice...

I have a weakness for purchasing charm square packs. I love them! This would be a great project for them. Think I'll try it.

Oh well, I have assigned it to DD for consideration as Christmas present for dear ole Mom. Smiles and hugs.

This is the practice block I made. I'm not sure what I'll make - maybe a table runner for the summer patriotic holidays.

Wow, just beautiful! I ordered the book from Connecting Threads, should be here any day now! Can't wait!

So I must be the only one that didn't get this "easy" block to work for me. :( I sewed everything right but when I opened up my block the center was kinda loose and didn't lay right. Oh well. I was really excited about this block but it just didn't work out for me. I must have done something wrong.

AngieS 11-05-2010 11:14 PM

My block that I did was sort of sticking up but I just pressed it and it was fine. Is there a square in the middle? And it's kind of raised?

Mine is raised because in my little sample I just did it quickly and not want to do it permantly as I dind't want to waste my sqs..but just tried it to get the idea...you can press it flat and stitch it

Nanjun 11-06-2010 05:28 AM

This is an easy bow tie pattern

no it took me a couple of days as I was not turning it to stitch it (duh) but I watched the you tube quite a few times. My sister said it was easy and she used it for the bow tie. But once you "get it" it is easy. sew keep trying!

Jugtavernquilter 11-06-2010 07:10 AM

Thanks!! I had trouble with it laying right when I sewed the last seam. The part that becomes the square didn't want to line up right for some reason. But I will keep trying. Thanks ladies!!

Casperscott 11-06-2010 09:49 AM

I'm in the middle of moving. My machine has been packed for two weeks. I'm going crazy. I NEED TO SEW!!!

Can't wait to try this block.

BOOKMARKED! Loved it! I'm always looking for EASY!

Thanks!

BMP 11-06-2010 10:45 AM

I really need to stop looking at all these new fun ideas and methods, I cant decide what to do next !!

JeanieG 11-06-2010 01:29 PM

My book came in today's mail. The instructions are very well written and the drawings are great. I can see how it would be difficult doing the block by just watching the video, there is detailed instructions on how to get the center square correct (does not look difficult). There are yardage charts for Throw, Double and King Size quilt sizes for each quilt shown in the book.

The book shows how to make the blocks using Layer Cake, Jelly Rolls, and Charm Squares, as well as regular materials.

I am thinking of using my scrap strips and make 10" squares to make this quilt.

I think the book was well worth the price ($13.48 including shipping from Connecting Threads)!

neece 11-06-2010 01:31 PM

Great quilt. I have wanted a bowtie quilt for awhile, now after seeing yours I will make one. Thanks. ;)

tincan 11-06-2010 02:15 PM

Did you get a book when you ordered 10 Minute quilt blocks fun and easy? I ordered from Design Originals (Authors business) I got the small plastic bag and only one design. Very diapointed. Returning Monday. I wanted the book.

JeanieG 11-06-2010 02:53 PM

plainpat 11-06-2010 05:10 PM
