I have use this method many times it works great .

Even though this looks interesting, I am working on Bonnie Hunter Mystery quilt and the way she cuts triangles with an EZ angle ruler works very well. I never plan to draw another line...LOL.
|
Id like to try it. I have an easy angle ruler, but where in the heck did I put it?
|
great technique.....poor choice of fabric to show it off.....will try this soon.
|
New to me idea, will have to try! Thanks

You could use any size large squares that are sized by multiples of the HST you need. Use the method shown here. You could use the 8-at-a-time method to make 16 or 32 or 64 HST also.

Interesting tutorial.

I use Triangulations software. No marking, no work, just sew and cut along the lines. There's also available for FREE a version from quiltingandwhatnot.com. Quilt-Pro also had their version for sale for $9.95. Don't know if it is still on sale. I LOVE using Triangulations! If I don't need a full page of whatever size, then I just cut the paper in strips or half-pages before sewing. When you cut along the lines, you also cut the dog-ears off so there's no going back and doing that later. Triangulations works wonderfully, and HST come out perfect every time.

When I took my beginning quilting class, we were taught this method, it works perfectly.

Interesting. I keep reusing my old Thangles.

I have successfully done the 8 at a time. I can see that if I needed a large number all the same the technique in the tute would be useful.

Thank you for sharing. I bookmarked it and I will eventually print it out.
I did try the EZ angle ruler today when I needed 2 HST units. It worked well. It was on the give away table where my church quilter's meet. Connie |
I need a bunch of HSTs for Bonnie Hunter's Alletare (I'm a bit behind) so I might give this a go...
|
