Thanks for posting, I love this as much as the 10 min. block, maybe more!!!

Well, I thought it was a great idea, too. So I tried a couple. I must be doing something wrong as the center edge that you fold up, comes up 1/4" short...I tried some different lengths, but that still didn't work. What I'm I doing wrong???

This was posed on YouTube in 2009.

Since this was posted by Ricky Tims, I don't see how she can claim all the credit. Besides, I'd learned the technique even before that, but it was called Dimensional Flying Geese.

Where did you find the book, I looked on amazon and could't find it.

WOW, even I can do that one. I think this will be my next project!!!!

bdschafer 07-09-2012 06:54 AM

I tried Ricky Tims flying geese measurements and I got it to work. So went back and got the measurements of the 5 min block....Well, it still doesn't work, the fold up edge still is 1/4" short. I really like this block, so please help me figure out what I'm doing wrong....

That woman is brilliant. How can she keep thinking up these things? I can't wait to try it!

Oops, just read that Ricky Timms has taught it as well. So they are both brilliant, in my book.

To the poster who had trouble with the block -- I had some trouble with *some* of my ten-minute blocks, so I understand your frustration, but I don't know why some worked and some didn't so I'm afraid I'm no help to you!

I ordered the book at DesignsOriginal.com

I cut my three blocks 5" x 7". This did not work. Has to be something in the math! I know we must have a math pro on the board!!

Going to try this for my next project. Does anyone know the size of the rectangles?
