5-pointed star with one snip

Here is a video that shows how to make a 5-pointed star with one snip. Paper is used, but it would be interesting to see if it can be done directly with fabric instead of tracing the paper star onto fabric for an applique on your quilt.

I don't see why it couldn't be used with fabric. Just remember that it will be much smaller and the dimensions will change when it is appliqued onto another piece of fabric. I would definitely use a fusible on it or and do a turned applique for best results.

Interesting idea!

It would be a time save to make the stars from fusible and then fuse to fabric to cut the stars.

You can make it as big as you want, just use a bigger square.

Wasn't that what Betsy Ross was known for when making her flag. It seems like I remember a story like that in elementary school. Hers was fabric of course.

Last April we were in Philadelphia and happened to visit the Betsy Ross House. Very interesting story as I had never heard her story

A five pointed star! I made a few of these. What fun! And, yes, I thing fused fabric would work.
