6 Halves Make a Whole Lot More

Has anyone purchased this book?

It makes quilts out of 6, half-yard materials.

I have six in mind, but was curious how big the actual "squares" were in the center of the stars.

There's a link to the book if anyone is interested.
Thanks!

I don't have that book, but I was just thinking how nice the quilt on the cover would be as a scrappy project.

Sorry, RedStilettos ... I can't answer your question! :(

Though I do like that quilt and it is calling to me ... no I do not need another project! :)

I didn't notice the size of the quilt. But if you knew you could easily figure out the block sizes. Otherwise, it definitely works on a grid format, so you could easily figure out sizing ....... and if you were to do your own thing, you could make the base square size whatever you want, and go from there.

I can see this quilt, could be even nicer by expanding those corners so they joined up to give an on-point effect while creating a border filled with scrappy squares. hhmmmmmm .... am I talking myself into this or what? :D

I made that quilt only it was called Irish Mist. The squares inside the stars are 4 inches finished so cut at 4.5 inches.

Here's one quilted by a member of the board. Only a portion of the quilt is shown in the picture on the pattern. If you search for Irish Mist quilt you will see a number of variations.

The cover is intriguing! I don't buy books because I have too many quilt patterns saved to my computer. :o This one is lovely.

I made the cover quilt. Great instructions.

You might want to investigate further. A lot of time the Quilt Branch patterns are using their rulers to make their quilts. I bought several books and a ruler. I found it difficult to use them without taking a class. When she was demonstrating it looked so easy. I was too lazy and unmotivated to learn to use the ruler. I looked at the patterns and figured out an easier way to make the quilt. I agree that her books and patterns look great. I put the ruler on the free table at our guild and kept the books. So check and see if it requires her rulers. In fact, I have purchased some of her books twice. Silly me.
