Additional way to use neckties
I have seen the quilts made with the ties but this craft would use up the remainder. Terrific way to pass along a memory to grandchildren.

That's a really cute idea...and easy to do! Thanks for the link!

wow--those are so cute! And would be rather easy, too--need to stash this idea away for next year's Guild Christmas party "favor"!

Someone on that site mentioned what I was going to suggest--could be a memory item and embellish with a tie tack that belonged to the loved one.

Hate to be the Grinch, but I think they look better as ties. Ugly ties make ugly ornaments. How about putting some pretty fabric or Christmas fabric in the little hoops instead?
If going for a 'memory' ornament, this is a good idea to give to family members, as long as the deceased was known by his ties. To me, this is the best use of old ties that I have seen: http://quiltinspiration.blogspot.fr/...artin.html?m=1 |
Not a Grinch at all! From what I have seen, most tie projects are memory related. Yet, your idea to use Christmas fabric is terrific- especially those little scraps we "just can't toss" or ornaments made from a loved one's clothing. I am glad you wrote this comment as it may have sparked some creative additional ideas for some folks.
