all I can say is: WOW !!!!!

I would never ever have bought this fabric, but look how she makes hexies with it, simple stunning!

And just take (a lot of) time to look at her tutorials
( I didn't forget to look this time Agnes LOL)
http://nelliedurand.blogspot.ca/p/tutorials.html not just quilts, but some other nice projects too.;

Those hexies are awesome. She has a great eye.

How clever and imaginative she is! Those stars are fabulous! Thanks for sharing!

Great hexies with only one problem.....she bought the last piece on the bolt! You know she will want to continue with her hexies or make a bigger project and won't be able to find anymore.:D

That fabric is hideous but the hexies are fabulous. I would never be able to make something like that because I can never see past the fabric to the project.

That is totally amazing! I wondering what the size is of the hex she could get from that fabric? This is when a quarter/dine or a ruler would help set on top of the fabric. It really give you ideas that maybe that pattern on the fabric one would never buy might be well worth getting! Thanks for sharing!

Wow those are really nice, but if you follow the link, you see it is a sew along hosted by faerie sand fibres. looks like all the instructions you need to give it a try!

You are right - totally amazing hexies!

butterflies5518 01-17-2014 06:17 PM

I am so into hexie's right now - I would never have imagined trying those she has displayed. My current project is just scrappy but oh the possibilities. However, I realized that all those hexie's now have to be hand stitched together! What did I get myself into???

Thanks for the link.....I spent a fair while checking out Nellie's blog...ah, such talent, I loved the landscape art quilts, so much depth and visual interest. Yet another bookmark! Hexies are addictive, I am currently piecing my GFG together....an epic task...but one I'm going to persevere with.

Ok I went back and looked again at the pictures to see if I missed something and could get an idea of the sizes of the hexes lol then I notice the pins holding them in place, wow those are some small Hexes!

Oh, thanks a lot!! Hexie quilts never interested me, but I already have a snowflake quilt dancing through my head!! Even my hubby was impressed. Seeing Bonnie Hunter's finished hexie top (14 years in the making) yesterday when she was in Punta Gorda didn't help. I think it's Destiny. *sigh*

I agree with you, this is a fabric that I would walk right on by ... but wow what she did with it! thanks for sharing
