Fellow quilters,
Here's a link to a shop I make a pilgrimage to when time and money permits. They have the most beautiful fabrics from all the top names and the prices are discounted from normal quilt shops---6.39/yd verses 8.99-9.99/yard. Of course they have fabric for cheaper. When I'm there in person I like to pick thru the scrap bin. Fifty-cents for pieces that can be almost as big as a fat quarter. In-store the 23rd thru the 25th of August is 15% off all cottons. Great buys. 1800's, 1930's, current, backing, everything you can think of. www.hayloftfabrics.com |
Our guild has a yearly trip to the Hayloft! It is a great place to go. Plus you can pick up groceries as well. Have you been to Burkeholders and Sauders?

No I haven't. As a matter of fact I have quite a bit of info from the Lancaster/Intercourse area with those shops on the list and am eventually planning a shop-hop for myself as soon as I can sit and concentrate on it.
Does it count I drag the pile and my notes on it with me around the house everyday to keep looking at it? Hey, would it possible to let me know when you're down? Maybe I could meet up at the shop. I'm not in a guild or group at the moment so I'm always looking for face to face inspiration. |
Of course we can meet! That would be awesome. Our bus trip will be in October on a Saturday. I have to get back to you on the exact date. I don't have the info with me; I'm at work.
Sauders is a little odd. You can buy all kinds of spices, baking candies, leguemes (I know I spelled it wrong so they's just say beans) at great prices and all the fabric you want. The only thing is, they have an "out house"! So go before you get there :P Burkeholders has 3 to 4 rooms filled with high quality fabric arranged in colors. I get light headed and excited every time I walk in! I'll keep you posted. Barbara/NYC |
That would be great. I hope it doesn't fall on the same Saturday as one of the Adams Cty. apple festivals. I'm a sucker for fall food stuff. Lancaster will have one next Sat. for sweet corn and Sept. is potatoes.
Is Sauder's the one in the basement of a house? I'd like to check out another new shop in the Valley Forge area. I'll have to look up the name of it. |
Yes, Sauder's in the basement. I am looking forward to it. I'll let you know what day in October tomorrow.
Everyone have a great evening. Barbara/NYC |

I will be there October 13th. Everyone is welcome to come. I would love to meet you all.

We'll firm up the plans as the date nears Barbara. This should be FUN!!!! Thanks for responding, too. |
I couldn't get the link to work either until I typed it in my browser bar. I found some beautiful batiks there and at good prices too! Thank you.
