Another free BOM for 2021

I enjoy downloading and saving all the new BOMs - even though I have way too many to do already. This looks fun.

Thanks, I just set up the link so I can pull it every month. I try to do one BOM a year.

Bom

This looks interesting. I think I will try to keep up. Thanks for sharing.

Julienm1 12-25-2020 02:25 AM

I'm in! Haven't done a BOM for a long time. (Like I need another quilt project. YES I DO!)

Blueridgebeverly 12-26-2020 03:26 PM

This does look interesting. Thanks for sharing.

This BOM started. Here is the first one.

Can you sign up somewhere, or do you just have to remember to look for it?

cgsumter 01-14-2021 06:50 PM

I think you just have to set your own reminder. There did not appear to be a signup function. I just plan to set a reminder in my phone for the 12th of every month

stichinluvr 01-16-2021 07:41 AM

If you go to Seams to be Sew, she has a list of free block of the months. She updates this as she gets word of new ones.

sewbizgirl 01-22-2021 11:06 PM

My friend and I just decided to do these blocks together. Anyone mind if we use this thread (since it's already been started) to discuss blocks, fabrics, colors and to share our pictures?

Has anyone started yet? If so, please post pictures!

Maybe someone can post the reminder here? I don't use a calendar on my phone, or a paper calendar for that matter. :-) I'm totally lucky if I remember someone's birthday because I forget to look at my birthday book too!

Giv, I'll remind you! https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...s/rolleyes.png

I'm doing the Old School BOM. (Heretofore refered to as "OSBOM"). I'm trying to decide on a fabric set to use. I have so much civil war and also 1930's feedsack repros. I might make one of each, every month.

Thanks, girls, for offering to remind me! :-)

Here's my January block. I was trying to not have the background look like a + and have the block have more of a blended look. I'm going to go with scrappy, trying to use some CW prints and miscellaneous.

sewbizgirl 01-23-2021 10:24 PM

Love your fabrics, givio!

Anyone have the first two from pumpkin patch. i did download. got a new computer and didnt down them right so they won't open . appreciate any help. tx.

givio 01-24-2021 10:34 AM

puma, it looks like you might be thinking of a different BOM than the one that started this thread in post #1. I'm working on that one-- the Old School BOM. The first block is by Persimon Dreams, and I think a second block has not been published yet. Would you like to join?

It doesn't look like Pumpkin Patch is participating in the Old School BOM.

I know the title of the thread is not specific. Maybe someone else knows about the BOM you are requesting info about.... good luck and best wishes! There sure are a lot of fun choices!

What link do you save to get the monthly blocks? Are they posted on the Quilting Message Board?

Hi Cathy,
If you are wanting to get the Old School BOM blocks, this is the link to the first one:
https://kimlapacek.com/2021/01/patch...chool-bom.html

Just go back on the 12th of every month to get each new one. They are being provided by different designers, so this should be fun! If you follow this thread, I'm sure you'll see us talking about the new blocks as they post, too.

The first block is up now... until the second one posts on Feb.12, I believe.

givio 01-25-2021 07:48 PM

There's a new thread in the 'Blocks of the Month and Week' forum that is for the Old School Block of the Month discussion.
Anyone that is doing that BOM, please post there. There are two photos of the January block there so far, and we hope to see yours there soon! :-)

I signed up last year for Blockbusters3 -- it was a weekly download. The really nice thing was that the design was for 4, 6, 8 and 12 inches and included cutting and assembly. Each was from a different designer. I assume that there will be a Blockbusters 4 coming soon. I made several blocks for placemats. And I put them all on a thumb drive for later.
