Another store closing

Starting the year off, another brick-and-mortar store in Texas is closing, although there will still be online shopping available.

It is so sad to see another store close. One of our LQS just closed. It was the one closest to my house. We are blessed in my area as there a several LQS within 10 or 15 miles of my house. I like to actually see and touch my fabric before I buy it. Colors are too hard to see online.

Yes, we had three stores locally close this year. Sad. Yet, online is where it at I guess. Somethings are better in person.

Everyone wanting to buy things as cheap as they can get it, is the reason a lot of businesses are closing. Buying stuff on the internet is ruining and making it harder for stores/businesses stay open. It is not cheap to keep a store open.

That's why I do try to buy from my LQS and other local stores. I want to keep them open even if it costs me a few more nickels with every purchase.

16 very successful years as a brick & mortar shop is quite the accomplishment! Owning and running a shop is hard work, long hours and dedication to a business. Not to mention that it is a RETAIL business so one has to have and demonstrate a strong understanding of business. I rarely stick to any "job" past 13 years. In general...Shop owners are ready to retire, take a step back, regroup , play with grands, etc. Whatever. Celebrate the success.. no need to think of every shop closing as a "failure". We all move on eventually. This shop in particular must have been quite the shop! Kudos

One LQS owner wants to retire but can't find anyone that wants to take over her shop. She will have to close. Her shop is very successful.
