Charlee, is it close enough to go? Sounds like a lot of fun!

sewbeadit 01-15-2012 01:41 AM

Oh my gosh, wonder if that is going to be what my stuff looks like in about 25 more years! Going to start getting rid of it now. I did see some oriental things I would like. The lace my oh my, wonder where all the thread is and if it was stored properly.

redmadder 01-15-2012 03:16 AM

That person had such fun with her stuff. Had to be her, note all the shoes. Its obvious she used and enjoyed everything. Never see such auctions hereabouts, they get rid of it before they move south.

AUQuilter 01-15-2012 03:36 AM

Thanks for posting! Would love to go to this one.

It's close enough, about 2 or 3 hours drive, but I have to work weekends, so don't get to go to many of these... :(

Sort of a reminder that you can't take it with you when you pass. It would be interesting to go to the auction and see what the sewing machines go for.

I think that she must have, at some time in her life, been a costumer. Lots of furbelows, for sure.

That stuff brings back memories of cleaning out parents and in-laws stuff. Lesson learned was not to collect like them.
Sadly I collect in a more organized fashion.

penski 01-16-2012 10:11 PM
