Well yes, I did try them. When I read about them I thought it sounded like a very cool idea. So I paid my $14.95 and was excited when I went to use them for the first time. I don't like the idea of having to place my hands exactly "so" and I was so conscious of holding them correctly that I lost my concentration on my sewing. Hey if they work for you that's great. $14.95 for two pieces of foam? I consider that a rip off, what do you think it costs to produce them? I paid $5.95 for my Machingers and they work without my giving them a second thought.

The great thing is that we are all different and what works for one may not work for someone else. That said I still think they are way overpriced for what they are. I can get a couple of yards of very nice fabric for $14.95.

Thank you for clarifying. As I said I have to wear a splint when I FMQ. i like the Machinger's but find them inconvenient to use with a splint. I'm hopeful that these will work better for me.

Thank you for clarifying. As I said I have to wear a splint when I FMQ. i like the Machinger's but find them inconvenient to use with a splint. I'm hopeful that these will work better for me.

I most certainly hope they will work for you. Anything that will help you to do what you love is worth it. I'm teaching myself to FMQ and while I'm messing up a lot, I'm also learning and so far I love the technique.

I finished reading the post AFTER I had ordered them. So I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

I have no affiliation with her or her product. This just looked like a useful product to me. I've ordered them on the recommendation of a friend. I hope they work as well as they appear to in the video. (I have to do something different from what I'm doing now.)

Thank you so much for posting this very interesting site. My hands are also very effected by arthritis and machine quilting can be painful. :thumbup:

Paula was on Simply Quilts many times. She did, and may still do, a lot of quilting for Alex Anderson on her regular sewing machine.

I too rushed to order them before reading the negative vote, but since I'm batty about bats as well as batts, I just had to get them! Now I'd better get that FMQ foot I need too....

I will be sure to let you know. They were recommended to me by someone who uses them, and so I'm feeling pretty confident. As was stated earlier, everyone has different needs and ways of doing things, however. What works for one isn't necessarily the best fit for another.
