Thanks for sharing. I'm getting a couple of those the next time I go into the city. No more wrapping pony tail holders around my bobbins. LOL

Now isn't that a clever idea! They can be easily cut to any size!

I bought some spiral bound cookbooks at a yard sale for .25 each. I took the spirals off the books and made bobbin holders with pre filled metal bobbins for table decorations for our guild Christmas Lunch. Every one had one to take home.

Definetley going to try this one, I use bobbins for my go to projects instead of spools of thread, so much easier to put in a small container and stuff in my purse. Thanks for the link.

Thanks for the idea. I know I have an unused binder ring the I am going to try. Can't wait to get my bobbins out of the "bobbin box" they are in.

I second that notion about when in the city next time. The pony holders are OK but this is so much neater looking. Might check my old books to see if there is a donor.

That's a great idea! I have my metal bobbins wrapped in the fuzzy ponytail holders & I can't see what color thread is on them! I leave some sticking out, but it's still hard to see.

Great idea, wonder if the local dollar store has those? If not I can wait a few days before I go into town.

Great idea - but - I just threw away an EMPTY notebook!

Great idea! I've been looking for a holder big enough to hold the bobbins for my Bernina 820. Thanks for posting. Will have to try.

They are called GBC or Plastic Comb binding, if anyone wants to know what to ask for at the office supply store. I went to our Staples to find them and they only had them in boxes of 25, I asked the guy at the printing desk(they bind things too) and asked if I could buy a couple off of him and he just gave me two of them. They're black, but I can live with that.

After I read this article I had to try it and am so glad I did as it works so great especially in my go to bag I keep in my purse . I am working on a GFG and use various colors of thread depending on what color hexi I am working on and instead of carrying spools of thread I use bobbins and this idea works so great. I went to a day quilt retreat yesterday and shared this with a other quilters and left a strip of binding spiral for them to try. No more pony tail holders for me, they are fine for spools of thread but I did not find them to work well on bobbins. Thanks for sharing a great link.

Have you seen the small M&M 's that come in a small tube. They hold about 8 to 10 bobbins after you eat the M&M's, the cost is a little over a dollar, or you can buy tubes like that for $3 something and no goodies come with them.
