Someone posted a while ago that they were interested in trading books or selling them, looking to buy books discounted. I use Amazon.com all the time and have been very happy with the service....but what to do with those books piling up that you aren't using? I had no idea until this past week when I was told about a group trading online. It's called swaptree.com and I adore it. I have traded 2 books so far and am waiting for mine to arrive. I'll let you know how it went once they get here but wanted to share. I paid for my books to be shipped by media mail out to one person and another is sending me 2 books in return. :D HOW FUN!!!

I've been using bookmooch.com for a while. Another trading service that is just awesome!

oooooh, thanks Chele. I'll check that one out, too. Are you just trading sewing/quilting books or other types also?

Chele 01-25-2009 06:21 PM

I trade all kinds of books. I've received quilting books, cookbooks, novels, and books the kids need for school. A great way to recycle!

awesome! I'm signing up for this one, too. I understand that yours is based on a point system....the swaptree site doesn't do that but it does have a user rating system.

I should mention that both sites are FREE. Your only cost is postage of your trades.

Hi Berks Co. Cherrie. I also live in Berks Exeter Twp. to be exact. We have a wonderful library in Exeter. Check it out if you haven't already!
For those of you who like to read, check out www.seniorlearn.org . They have a book club, a discussion group - the current book is the Guernsey Literary Potato Peel Pie Society - quite a mouthfull - but it is about post WWII in Britain. Interesting! Although it is fiction, the discussions are real! :)

EdithAnne, Welcome! I use the library for books on tape to use while I sew!
Looked for you on Introduce yourself, couldn't find you :( C'mon, let us get to know more about you. We love pictures!
