Seems like an easy to follow tut. Only thing is it doesn't use batting or fleece between the fabric's. Thank you for finding the link!!

Wow. Thank you for this. One question to all of you who have made one of these..... would it be possible to make this out of upholstery fabric? I have a couple gorgeous pieces and would like to make a bag out of them. Thanks for any input.

pab 02-17-2011 09:11 AM

Patchworkmarion 02-17-2011 11:36 AM

Thank you.I've printed off the pattern

BellaBoo 02-17-2011 11:57 AM

It's legal to post online how to make a pattern but you can't post any part of the original pattern. Which seems dumb, how do it is all you need. LOL. I haven't failed yet to find any quilt or project pattern free online from bits and pieces of the pattern, enough to make the pattern, scattered all over blogs, quilt shops, quilt magazine websites and message boards.

Yes, that is what I used,I have a couple of things I would do differently, if you use upholstery fabric. Be really careful with the handles. The pattern says two layers of pellon, for the body, I would only use one with the heavier fabrics.

I did try to find the link craftybear posted but all I found was "how to tie a bow on a purse"? I tried the one RitaVal posted, and success! I am so thankful to both of you, since I just finally got my bowtucks pattern, and was very dismayed by the lack of pictures or drawings. I am a visual learner, and was afraid I would not be able to use this pattern.

Here is a link to a correction to the pattern I found online.
