Brother CS6000

Just a quick heads up for anyone looking for a new machine. Amazon's deal of the day today is the Brother sewing machine 6000, for $149.99. I do not use Brother machines but know many of you do and this is a great deal.

You have to click Todays Deals. There is list of daily deals for 24 hours until sold out or over. I have Prime so I don't know if it is a different web page for basic.

This is a nice machine, my sister has this model and loves it.

I have this machine, but loaned it to a granddaughter to take to Texas, to use at sewing classes, so I might not get it back, that's okay, but I like it better than the brother sq9185 I got to replace it, this one is too hard to thread and rewind the bobbin, wish I had the other one.

I used to have this machine & I loved it for piecing. Also it is so light weight & easy to travel with. I had a power surge go through my house a few years back & it burned up all my electronic stuff including my cs6000

Hi all, I'm new to quilting and started with a brother BB370 and quickly returned it for a brother CS-6000i, which was such an improvement. Midway through quilting my first wall hanging (it was the beginning project at my LQS), I started having problems with the tension. I finally read on line that it could be caused by fuzz and dust in the bobbin. After cleaning it out, it worked perfectly until tonight. Since the first cleaning, I've only made a couple potholders and "played" with making a pineapple block. So, tonight I cleaned the bobbin area again, but there was no fuzz or dust and I still can't correct the tension. Has anyone else had this problem? As a last straw, I can still return it to the store since I've only had it around 4 weeks....but really don't want to.

Try to wound a new bobbin and check if the thread is evently wounded. Of course check also if the machine is correctly threaded, sometimes it's easy to miss a part of the route.
