I use a laser printer. I get about 5000 pages on one toner. Printer cost $99 at Walmart. Toner is $37 on Amazon. I won't pay ink jet ink prices. If I need color I go to office store and get color copy about .60 each. For quilt patterns to print out I have the color picture of the quilt on my phone, tablet, or computer. Oh the info for the fabric printer is here: https://thesewinggallery.net/blogs/t...intmoda-studio
Oops 2500 pages per toner. I get two in package. |

Hmm. I wonder if the fabric will have "run" issues like the commercial digital prints do. That issue is getting REALLY old, IMO, and I wish they'd find a solution.

The fabric printer is ink jet. For paper printing i only use laser. So much cheaper.

I haven't had the run issues with the digital fabrics I used to make a large pinwheel quilt. They were Robert Kauffman brand.I haven't used another digital brand.

Reminds me of Accuquilt when it first was available for the home. So many saw only the negatives. Now it is in most sewing rooms. Home 3D printers are normal to see in homes and workshops. Dealer told us she had about 12 pre orders that morning. She was leaving Sunday to go to the Brother new launches and will know more next week. I can't see me having a need for it in my sewing room right now. |
same here cash ;)
my first thought was the troubles with the digital fabrics we've read about here, but it isn't something I'd be getting anyway. Onebyone always leads the parade, hopefully she'll show us examples of what she does with it. I see the potential for quilt shops to print customer requests, that would bring in customers who will generally turn into shoppers for other things. And they can write off the expense. |

For now, I'll stick with Spoonflower. Never had a problem with bleeding. Plus, you can manipulate the image by mirroring, etc.

Those are beautiful Ashley! Were they original designs?

i keep thinking ahead of how new things can lead to something more. Maybe not for me or everyone at the time but can develop into newer things later that we will be thankful to be able to have. I have always thought of the potential.
