I'm so glad to see you post something. I have
been meaning to PM you to see how you weathered
the hurricane. We are still completely dried up
down here in TX - no real rain for going on 3 months.
We did have a wonderful rain on Aug. 12th, for which
I am very grateful. But other than that, terrible
drought. We did have a break in the 100 plus degrees,
but it's heading back up this week.

Anyway, hope you didn't have damage from flooding
or anything like that.

marcia,
we had a skin of water, maybe 1/16" deep 3' in diameter in the lowest part part of the basement. david turned on the fan and it dried up. in town only the tallest maple trees (they have very shallow roots) came down, with hardly any house damage and only one line damaged. as far as i know, the police didn't close off any flooded streets. they did want people to stay off the wet roads, but no streets were flooded.

this is an old town with no condos or new development or anything right on top of each other, so there's plenty of ground to soak up water. the trees are also big and they take up a lot of the water. i wish i could send you some.

i've seen pictures and read about the lakes and rivers drying up totally where you are. everything must be dying. too bad we can't swap. they're predicting some more light rain here.

Hey Barbara,
So glad to hear that you didn't have any significant
damage. I, too, wish you could send us some
rain. Anyway, glad you're o.k.
Have a great day!

I volunteered to be the pin-picker-upper and live under the stairs, but no takers yet....
