Can you explain this better?
Love this quilt but do not understand cutting three inch blocks to get the tine white stips; anyone familiar with this pattern and can explain a bit better or maybe know of link to tutorial done here on QB? Thank you. http://www.littlemissshabby.com/2011...-scrap-winner/

Well, this was a short-lived post; found the answer! I do not like using an entire square for the process, though. http://www.littlemissshabby.com/2011...lock-tutorial/

Thanks for the link. She is doing a counted cross stitch that I am going to follow.

I see what you mean about waste. I think I would do what Bonnie Hunter does when she sews off corners. She sews another seam further out and cuts between them so you can use the cut off square later in something else.

Why not make quarter square triangles and then put a thin sashing on? It would be the same thing, except easier, at least to me it would be.

you can do the same with narrow strips. looks like it finishes up at 1/2" or so, so you could cut 1" strips. I saw a tute last week that had a similar narrow strip - they cut the strips 1" longer than the diagonal of the block if i remember correctly. try cutting the same out of paper and test the size before you cut from fabric.

Thank you for the input! All the suggestions seem like they would work better. A strip seems so much simpler than cutting out a bunch of squares; I am not a fan of cutting squares!

But I love the quilt!!

You could draw it off and paper piece it. It is pretty simple. Really a cute quilt.
