Card trick-MSQC version

Just watched a new YouTube video from MSQC on card trick block. I've always liked that block, but never committed to it because of its original instructions, but this version is so much easier....might do it!

I just watched the video too Geri! It looks like it is doable, easy and fun. Thanks for letting the QB know and don't you just love Jenny Doan??!! I also have admired this block but didn't want to tackle the hard 1/2 square triangles. I Need to try Jenny's way.

Card tricks has always been one of my favorite blocks. Jenny's way is so easy! I have one in the works right now.

I thought her video was wonderful (as always) and added it to my YouTube channels. It will definitely be on my list of quilts to do...

I had heard of that method quite a few years ago and have made a few of them just as orphan blocks. They are fun.

Have you tried the tutorial for "Glad all Over" that is posted by by Quilting Quickly (Fons and Porter) @ https://www.youtube.com/embed/WdntzirD8ho? I made this quilt last year, as it was the easiest Card Trick pattern I could find and it turned out nice! I am still in the process of quilting it, but I am loving the way it has turned out :)

Charmedinmissouri - like that f&p version too! Watched the tute...easy to do from it, except she doesn't mention size of sashing...looks like smaller than 2 1/2" cut...maybe more like 1 1/2"?

charmednmissouri 02-20-2018 12:10 PM

Mine is 2 1/2", but I do not remember the size they mentioned in the tutorial. Since these blocks are made of mostly 2 1/2" strips, I thought I would stick with that size. I made a 9 patch for my son in December, and that was the first I had ever tried 1 1/2" strips as sashing. It looks great with that quilt, but not much room to try out very many patterns/motifs. But I am still a baby quilter, LOL!
