Charm squares vs. jelly rolls

Watched Jenny Doan's tute on kissing coins...she cut charms into 2 1/2" strips.....2 1/2 x 5 for coins, then 2 1/2" squares for kisses.....I have a " lot" of jelly rolls.....that would work too right?....just cut those into 5" and 2 1/2" segments....hmmmm logical isn't it......will have to try.....

I watched that video this morning and thought why didn't she use a jelly roll. I believe it would work,

If you have a jelly roll, it will work. Will take some time to cut them up into into the rectangles and then cut some 2.5" squares.

I think I'll try...using the June Taylor strip cutter..I think that's what it's called....if I line up rows of 6 deep and just cut 5" and 10"........ Then slice a stack of 5" into 2 1/2"" squares.........wonder how many jelly rolls = what did she say 5 charm packs? Will do the math before I start.....

A jelly roll may not be an even amount of fabric for the quilt, you may end up with too much left over or have to buy two to get a few extra strips. The charm packs probably are the best buy if you use precuts.
