Chevron with strips not triangles

Look very easy. http://thelittlefabricshop.blogspot....-tutorial.html

tess, I was determined to make one, so many different ways to make these. So I thought I'd try the one with strips. It went fine and I was happy with it. Then decided to all boarder it, it wasn't working out, all wavy. I threw it in my UFO stuff. I'll deal with it later. Good Luck with this, no one else seems to have this problem.

looks like a great method.

With everything in place you could also QAYG with this.

Made one this way. Was a lot of fun to do? However I didn't have a tute and had to figure it out on my won.

I made this one using that tutorial. I was very careful with all of those biased edges. I love how it came out & so did the momma!

Here is the one I have been working on, just finished basting it, now to quilt, and bind it. No pattern but it all seemed to work out for me.

I've been wanting to make a chevron quilt. Thanks so much for posting this!

(Pjaco, I love your avatar quilt!)

Making the blocks is easy with the rectangles, but once you have it together, you have to square it up which leaves you with the entire outside as bias edges. I have made one each way, with rectangles and with 1/2 square triangles and liked the triangle method better. It was difficult to sandwich & quilt because of the whole outside being bias edges. Use plenty of starch, although I did and still had issues. It came out alright, but it was more of a hassle than the triangle one.

Thanks for the tute!

I like the method and would love to try it but I have two little dogs who love to sleep on anything I put on the floor, especially a quilt I am working on. Will save the method.

Wow this is a neat way to do it. I think this may require some spray starch. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the tutorial. I have got to quit adding things to must make list. I don't think I can live long enough to complete them all. I can dream though.
