chick pincushions
i made log cabin chicken pincushions years ago and used fabric comb, wattle, and beaks. i wanted to make another one and was looking for the sizes of the log pieces when i found this delightful way to make the comb beak and tail

I've used the red jumbo before but I sewed it on at 1/8 seam allowance before cutting the extra off. It helps to catch the edges better with no danger of the raw edges sneaking out of pins.
