circle flower stitcher
Has anyone tried one of these?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Flower-Stitc...item43ba0884aa I have purchased different attachments for all of my sewing machines. Some work some don't work. Living on SS, I don't have money to flit away. But this sounded like a quick fix to put some detail in my flower appliques. Thanks for any and all help Monica |
Looks like a handy gadget. Plus free shipping and $10 off first order, if that is true, you would only be out $2.44 if it didn't do the job you had in mind. Maybe you could call your dealer and ask them if they carry it, or if they think it would work?

I bought one from sewing with Nancy and it works good and fun.

You don't really need the attachment.
http://terristegmiller.com/pdf/circle.pdf There's a tutorial here on Quilting Board http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...s-t210681.html Those circle attachments apparently don't fit all machines. Read the requirements or ask before purchasing. |
There is a lot of negative feedback on this seller. You should read the negative feedback before you decide to buy.

I have this device. When I used it on my Pfaff it would only sew backwards (maybe it is supposed to?) and would not sew the patterned stitches. Quite frankly, i/ think Nancy Zieman's method of taping a drawing pin to the bed of the machine is the best circle attachment.

Thank you everyone for your input, and about the tackNtape, I think I'll pass on this one!

I bought one of these not long before I had to move. I haven't had a chance to use it(not even sure where it is right now lol ) so am kinda interested in seeing if it works or not.

I bought the circle maker from Nancy Zieman's catalog. It cost me about $20.00. I am hoping to make 2 orange peel quilts for my granddaughter's for Christmas, I have sewn about 40 of the circles and only had minor problems with 2-3 of them. The circles didn't end up meeting as they should have. Operator error I'm sure. I'm very happy with this device and am glad I bought it. The only problem I have had is that I realized that the fabric that comes forward and forms the orange slices is cream colored and I can see the zigzag trimmed seam. I'll know better the next time.

I saw this on "Sewing With Nancy" also. She did show alternative, like using a tack through some tape (the tack is point up) and sewing around it.

I saw the tutorial on this board with the thumb tack. That worked great. Then I saw the attachment on Nancy's Notions. Bought it. my opinion, use the thumb tack. You can make bigger circles with the thumb tack than you can with the attachment.
|
I bought it, but I couldn't get it to work on my Janome Horizon.

I was given one for Christmas. I have used it. The tack is easier and will do bigger circles and almost easier to control. This is more fun though.

Does anyone know where to find the tut on using a tack? please pm me if ya do.
