I am not one for reading the news paper, but every Sunday in the Life Styles section of an area news paper there is columist that does a quilting colum. This past Sunday as I finished reading her colum I knew that I need to share this heart warming story...

Reminds me of my Mothers parents, grandma pieced and grandpa tied they made many quilts that way. She said he needed something to do so she kept the pile of tops ready and available for him to work on.

Great story! Nice to see a couple share common interests.

Sweet story! What a couple! We have a quilt made by my grandparents in the mid/late 1920's. Grampa designed the applique and then he and Grama buttonhole stitched the pieces onto a solid whiteish background. The applique pieces are all the same pink color. It's impressive to think they worked together and found the money for so much fabric during this time.

To find your "true love" is a blessing. Tears of joy as I read it. Thanks for sharing. I also have some pillow slips my Dad (87yrs old) embroidered when he was a small child. He was sick in bed and his mom taught him to stitch to keep him busy. Needless to say he never continued, but he was a man of many talents.

That column, and the ads, are about the only reason I still take the Daily Sentinel. That was definitely the sweetest story, it brought tears to my eyes.
