A bit disappointed in Craftsy this time around.
 

I enjoyed watching both of Edyta Sitar's videos. But even with clicking forward to speed things up, it still just took too much time to view. I wish the course materials were available so that I could determine whether or not it would be worth it to buy the course.

The last time Craftsy offered their free class viewing (for a month), more classes were available (almost all of them) and we were able to speed up the audio to view faster AND the course materials were available so you could see what you were working with. I ended up buying a few of their courses at that time. (I even bought a cooking course for a friend.)

This time around I did not buy any courses because:
1) Not enough time to view the courses
2) Not enough of a variety of courses to choose from
3) Could not view the course material to see if it was well-written or useful.

So I was a bit disappointed in the Craftsy free viewing this time around. Hopefully, next time Craftsy will go back to a longer viewing period and allow viewing of the course materials.

I watched 4 quilting classes--all that I had previously bookmarked to possibly buy later. What a treat this was!! Took lots of notes.

I think I must have posted on another thread relating to this. I watched 4 shows and have seen most/similar free on YouTube or other sites.

I posted on another thread but going to post here also. All of the classes were actually available except the ones from "The Great Courses", but Craftsy sure didn't make it easy to find them, so I knew a lot of people would be confused. What you had to do (just in case they do this again) is put a search term into the box; anything would work. Then it would bring you to the page with ALL the classes. There was a selector on the left-hand side where you could check off what you wanted (sewing, quilting, cooking, etc.) and then you'd get to the entire list of classes.

I watched all of Elizabeth Hartmann's class on her Woodland Animals quilts; I've been fascinated by her patterns and wanted to see how she does them. The class was excellent and I am considering purchasing it during the half-price sale today so I can get the patterns.

The other quilting-related class I viewed was Angela Walters' Dot to Dot Quilting. It's a pretty simplistic technique so don't think I would want to buy the class.

I viewed a couple of others not related to quilting. Watched part of both of Susan Stewart's classes on Heirloom Sewing and enjoyed what I watched of both. I also watched Nancy Nix Rice's class Sew to Flatter and thought it was super (another one I would consider buying).

I watched a little of one healthy cooking class but the instructor was way too hyper for me!

I was not impressed. Took me awhile to figure out how to go to classes other than the ones they had on the opening page and I missed the discussions/questions. I figured they wouldn't let you have the materials for nothing. Since the classes went on sale I purchased Angela Walters class.

I checked them out and saw most such classes on YouTube. Different instructors but I could go back and forth and pause. Harvey has kept us busy trying to clean up.

I watched a few and got a lot of good tips. The ones where they worked on technique rather than a specific pattern were really good for using as a tutorial even without the included patterns and material lists you couldn't access. I finally got a missing part of the puzzle for paper piecing. I had figured out my own somewhat workable method, but watching one of the classes made the part I was struggling with "click".

I loved that I was able to speed it up (did a lot of viewing at 2x speed) and skip back and forth easily (at that speed, I used the "back 15 seconds" more than once, slowed it to normal speed to catch the info, then back to 2x speed).

I've never done a zipper, so watching those classes helped me build up the courage to finally do that, along with some other random things. I even watched part of a pants making class and got some good tips for trying that on my own, with the option to go back and purchase the class if I want.

Maybe it's because I'm new, but I found a lot of the classes very useful (I also look for a lot of things on youtube though).

I watched Dot to Dot quilting and found it quite helpful. I'm a beginner and so this gave me a lot of tips that I found useful and ways to help me get over my fear of ruining a quilt by actually quilting! I also watched Ultimate Free Motion Quilting by Patsy Thomson and really enjoyed it.

Another I had really enjoyed was on cloth dyeing. Loads of info and very interesting.

The great courses were available. I watched two of them.....I used Chrome and everything worked fine once I got through their maze of password change and non functioning links that said Oops...blah, blah.....had to get someone to chat to before they fixed the problem. wasted an hour. Didn't like not having materials lists and resources.
