I use one similar to this for holding extra paper napkins at the table. My guests seem to appreciate an extra napkin at times.

What is the size of that moda hexie? I mean the side size, not thru the center .........cute idea

Thank you for sharing this fun tute and I see several of these in my future.

I made one yesterday. Just a hint- iron the block before you sew up the bowl sides. I found the middle puffs if you don't.

Yes! Me too! Will make and show to guild.

Actually...I have the GO die that cuts the big one! Wonder if a little stabilizer/stiffening wouldn't hurt?

Yeah, use the bigger one, I just made one using the 3 inch, it's really not a "bowl", more like a coaster! Cute though, I did use some pretty stiff interfacing in the middle(the bottom), and I just machine tacked the little corners instead of embroidery thread by hand, whole thing done in about 15-20 minutes.

gramquilter2 06-10-2015 05:49 AM

sdeaaz, like your hexie box, good choice of colors.

zennia 06-12-2015 03:08 AM

I am going to a party this week. I think I will make one of these and fill it with something for a hostess gift. Thanks for the idea,

Geri B 06-12-2015 05:39 AM

In the instructions she states after marking the inner hexie(1 inch from edge), the center is a 3" hex' so I'm guessing a four inch hex. But then seeing steaaz pic, looks like tutes walls were taller...must experiment .....
