You should try El Burns method, so easy and perfect every time.
Watch her on Quilterstv on the web. She uses squares that end up being 8 half sq triangles. Use two 6 inch sqs for 8 - 2/12 in half sqs. |
That tute show to cut 7/8's which I learned and do now to cut the whole inch instead. That way you can cut it down to size which usually you don't need to. So say the directions say cut 2 7/8" I just cut 3". So much easier :!:
|
Thats what the 6 in sq does. You just add 2 in for each size. If you want 3 1/2 in sqs use an 8 in sq. You get 8 hst that way. You sq them up with her sq up ruler before you open them, fast and easy. El Burns methods never fail.

I like to do 8 half sqs at a time instead of just one, to much exact cutting for me.
I still have all sizes of the sew on the lines interfacing type stuff. Someday may use it up. Fell for it when I was just starting out. Waste of money. I learn a new trick with every book and video I get from El Burns. She is so impressive. |
