Design wall MSQC?

MSQC has design wall fab on sale. 72x72" for 19.99. Fabric explained as: felted design cloth. Any one know what this fabric is.Is it really heavy duty felt?

Right now I'm using some old batting up on my wall but find I can't stick pins into it very easy. Am in the process of changing it out to foam board behind a new covering I bought that is much larger than 72 x 72. I rarely ever make a quilt that small. Any flannel, batting, flannel backed tablecloth would work for you if you don't need it too large.

Just wondering what this fabric is. Looking at the back of the package looks like it may be wrapped around a dowel. Right now I'm using a thin polar fleece blanket pinned around shower curtain.

I got a big foam piece and wrapped a piece of flannel on it and this works great for me and I can pin into the foam with no problems.

Juliasb, let us know what you think when you get it. QIAD had it on sale about a month ago.

I use insulation board covered with Warm & White. When it gets dirty (or cat clawed too much) I recover it with more W&W, using packing tape on the back to secure it. If you don't like the felted design cloth (whatever that is!) you could easily recover it.

I bought design wall felt before I think from Fons and Porter. It was treated so that fabric would stay put. Eventually the stick part went away. I contacted the manufacturer and a person I talked to said to spray it lightly with quilt basting spray and it will be like new. I now have a bigger wall made with insulation board covered with low loft poly batting. I spray it with basting spray and never use pins. I respray when the tacky goes away about once a year. The lint and strings come off easily with a lint roller.
