Design Wall

I was at the NQA quilt show on Friday with my daughter in law. There was a vendor there with portable design walls. I don't need one, because i have one end of my sewing room as a design wall.
I just wanted to share with those without the space for a large wall. They are flannel and free standing.

I bought the large one because I don't have any wall space to put one up. I have more space in the middle of my sewing room so use the portable one. I does get in the way sometimes but it works great and I couldn't put my blocks together without it. Can't use the floor as I have a cat who things quilt blocks are her own playthings.

Thanks for sharing. I am glad that you can order separate parts. My dog got into the bag and chewed a plastic piece before I caught her. I was not sure if I would be able to set it up.

I bought the large one, too, because I didn't have wall space. For the money I paid, I was very disappointed in the construction. It's very "wobbly" and falls apart when I try to slide it out from the closet it sits in front of. I complained to the vendor last year at the Knoxville show and he started telling me to wrap tape around the poles to make them fit tighter (which helps but doesn't solve the problem). I walked off thinking that for the price I paid, I would think it would work without me having to tape it together. That being said, I do love having a large surface to put my blocks up as I do them and to help in arranging a whole quilt at one time.

At our guild retreat, we can't attach anything to the walls so we use two easels and put a 4' x 8' covered insulating boards on them long ways. Works great.

I bought a large one when they first came out. The only thing I need now are the stablizer bars for the back. They didn't have those when they were first selling them.
